Sana'a: A meeting in Sana'a today, chaired by Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water Adel Bader and Al-Mahwit Governor Haneen Qutaynah, discussed the governorate's needs for electricity, water, and sanitation projects.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by senior officials from the Rural Electricity Authority and the Rural Water Projects Authority, reviewed the status of electricity and water projects in the governorate. This included efforts to rehabilitate and operate rural power generators, such as the Bani Habash electricity project in Rajm District, and ongoing projects like the Al-Zahir electricity project in Al-Khabt District.

Discussions also covered the coordination between the electricity and local water and sanitation institutions, particularly the handover of rural water projects. These projects include those in Ayn Surdud, Namirah, Al-Qahtani, Al-Madani, and Bayt Qutaynah, and ways to address challenges hindering their implementation.

Deputy Minister Bader reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to expanding electricity and water services, emphasizing that Al-Mahwit is a priority in the ministry's 1447 AH plan. This plan aligns with revolutionary and political leadership directives and the Government of Change and Construction program. He also called for stronger cooperation with local authorities and community involvement to facilitate stalled projects.

Governor Qutaynah expressed gratitude for the ministry's support and its commitment to meeting the governorate's service needs in electricity and water.
