Amran: A meeting was held today in Amran Governorate, chaired by the Governor, Dr. Faisal Ja'man, to discuss the educational process at the branch of the Faculty of Education, Sciences, and Arts in the Al-Sakibat area of Qaflah Adhr District, and the level of student enrollment in the scientific and literary departments.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included the head of the educational sector in the governorate Abdulrahman Al-Imad, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Sciences, and Arts Dr. Mohammed Sharb, the Faculty Secretary Dr. Mohammed Al-Tabib, and the head of the educational sector in Shaharah District Yahya Shamlan. The participants listened to an explanation regarding the basic needs and requirements necessary for the faculty branch to carry out its educational tasks.
The attendees stressed the need to expedite the construction of university lecture halls that can accommodate the largest number of students enrolled in the faculty, in order to alleviate overcrowding, which has exceeded 350 male and female students. They also discussed the branch's needs for solar energy and other supplies.
Governor Ja'man praised the efforts of the head of the educational sector in the governorate in completing the project of opening a branch for the faculty. This initiative, conducted in coordination with the presidency of Amran University and the Dean of the Faculty of Education at the university, aims to accredit the faculty branch. Such accreditation would contribute to supplying the governorate's districts with qualified cadres and teachers to cover the shortage in schools across the districts in various scientific specializations.
He urged the preparation of a financial estimate and the submission of proposals regarding the construction of a lecture hall for the faculty branch to help alleviate student overcrowding. Additionally, he directed the swift purchase of additional solar energy for the faculty branch and the provision of a number of study desks.
