Sanaa: A meeting held on Sunday in the Capital Secretariat, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Amin Jumaan, discussed ways to support the activities and programs of the Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Deaf and Mute. The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing projects and future plans to enhance the association's impact.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by prominent figures including the head of the Social Affairs Committee of the Secretariat's Local Council, Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, the Secretary-General of the Association, Iyad Al-Wa'al, and members of the association's administrative body. They reviewed the activities currently being implemented in various fields such as rehabilitation, training, culture, and sports, as well as the summer activities hosted at the Future School for the Deaf and Mute.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the studies and designs completed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports concerning the project to establish and rehabilitate a five-a-side football field at the Future School. This project aligns with the directives from the Supreme Political Council, aiming to enhance facilities for the deaf and mute community.
An agreement was reached to continue the support from the local authority in the Secretariat for the association's efforts and to engage with relevant entities to support the association's activities, programs, and the funding of the stadium construction project.
The attendees emphasized the importance of activities for the deaf and mute, highlighting their role in society and the unique skills they possess. They called for continued support from all relevant parties, considering it a legal and humanitarian responsibility.
The Secretary-General of the Secretariat's Local Council commended the association's administrative body for their dedication to educational, rehabilitational, skill-building, and sports programs. Similarly, the head of the Social Affairs Committee lauded the deaf and mute community for their participation in national activities and their advocacy efforts for the people of Gaza.
In recognition of their contributions, the association honored Jumaan and Al-Naqeeb with certificates of appreciation for their significant roles and efforts in various social and developmental activities.
