Discussion on Preventive Measures to Reduce Watery Diarrhea in Bajil, Hodeida

Bajil: A meeting chaired by Amer Muthana, Deputy Governor of Al Hudaydah for Eastern Districts Affairs, discussed today the preventive and therapeutic measures to address the spread of acute watery diarrhea in Bajil District.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by key officials, including the Director of the Health and Environment Office in the district, Dr. Mehran Al-Hassani, his deputy Dr. Mokhtar Jaba', the Director of the Rural Water Projects Authority branch, Mohammed Mughbash, Health Education Coordinator Dr. Ashraf Al-Darboushi, and Child Health Coordinator Dr. Abdullah Al-Amiri. They reviewed past efforts to curb the spread of diarrhea and examined mechanisms implemented to treat it, such as water chlorination and community awareness campaigns.

Deputy Governor Amer stressed the need for concerted efforts by relevant authorities to eliminate diarrhea outbreaks, highlighting the crucial role of the Rural Water Projects Authority in sterilizing water sources across the district's villages and neighborhoods. He emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination and intensifying field efforts, praising the Health Office's role in initiating awareness campaigns and emergency interventions to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

The Director of the Health Office outlined the causes of watery diarrhea, preventive measures, and the steps included in the office's plan to address it, underscoring the significance of community awareness in promoting healthy behaviors and preventing disease outbreaks. Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor inspected the workflow at the district's Health Office, commending the efforts made in field monitoring of health facilities.
