Distribution of 20 Tons of Improved Potato Seeds to Boost Farming in Mukayras District

Mukayras: The Director of Mukayras District in Al-Bayda Governorate, Yasser Jahalan, along with the agricultural sector official in the governorate, Engineer Mohammed Al-Haidari, launched the distribution of 20 tons of improved potato seeds to farmers in the district. This initiative, aimed at enhancing local agriculture, targets 120 farmers spread across the district's sub-districts.

According to Yemen News Agency, the distribution is being conducted through the Mukayras Agricultural Cooperative Multipurpose Society. During the launch, which was attended by the head of the agricultural committee in the governorate, Ibrahim Sawad, Jahalan expressed appreciation for the support provided to farmers with improved seeds. He encouraged farmers to actively participate in production to meet the demand for potatoes and other crops, thereby contributing to the expansion of fertile lands and the achievement of self-sufficiency.

Jahalan called for a united effort in supporting farmers and addressing their needs. He urged farmers to focus on potato cultivation and to take advantage of the facilities offered by the society and the Public Company for Potato Seed Production.

Engineer Mohammed Al-Haidari highlighted that a variety of seeds for vegetables, legumes, corn, wheat, and other agricultural crops had previously been distributed to farmers. He affirmed that the governorate's agriculture office is committed to supporting agricultural advancement across various districts.
