Shoub: The dollar rose to its highest level in several months on Tuesday, as investors sought safe-haven assets amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. The yen remained close to the 160 level against the dollar, settling at 159.61, while the euro fell 0.03 percent to $1.1525, and the British pound declined 0.05 percent to $1.3325, according to Oman News Agency. According to Yemen News Agency, a decline in market recovery expectations led to the Australian dollar falling to its lowest level in two months at $0.68722, while the New Zealand dollar dropped to its lowest level since January, declining 0.15 percent to $0.5754. Against a basket of currencies, the dollar index rose slightly to 99.93, on track for a 2.3 percent gain this month, which would be its biggest gain since July of last year.
