Sana'a: Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtour, a member of the Supreme Political Council, stated that the operation announced by the armed forces targeting a Saudi ship north of Yanbu reflects a development in the maritime confrontation equation.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Ben Habtour indicated that the operation confirms that relying on changing ship routes or circumventing the measures announced by the revolutionary, political, and military leadership is no longer viable. What was thought to be a safe exit has been proven by the Yemeni armed forces' field developments to be no longer so.
He pointed out that the message is clear: the equation of a blockade cannot be circumvented by attempting to change maritime shipping lanes or seeking alternative geographical routes. Military and security equations are imposed by the Yemeni armed forces with their long reach and keen observation of the realities on the ground, not by calculations of circumventing them.
Dr. Ben Habtour said, "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must now realize that the continued escalation and its expansion are a direct result of the continued existence of its causes, namely the ongoing blockade, aggression, and inhumane and immoral restrictions unjustly and aggressively imposed on the great Yemeni people."
He stressed that the shortest and safest path to Saudi maritime security begins with addressing the root causes of the political and humanitarian crisis that it has created over more than 12 years, not by attempting to circumvent its repercussions.
