Sana'a: Acting Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment Sam Al-Bashiri inspected on Tuesday the damage sustained by Al-Mazna'i Sponge Factory following a fire that broke out at the facility. The Acting Minister, accompanied by the Undersecretary for the Industry and Economic Cities Sector Sami Maqbuli, listened from the factory officials to an explanation of the extent of the damage and the management's plans to overcome the current situation.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Bashiri expressed his regret over the damage inflicted on the factory, noting that any losses to the private sector represent a loss to the national economy. He affirmed the government's and the ministry's readiness to provide support and facilitation to help the factory overcome the fire damage, resume production, and preserve the jobs it provides.
The Acting Minister stressed the importance of adhering to safety and security procedures in all industrial operations. For their part, the factory officials expressed appreciation for the attention of the leadership of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment to the losses caused by the fire and for its efforts to provide support and mitigate the damage.
The visit was accompanied by the Director of Central Operations at the Ministry, Najib Al-'Uzri.
