Sana'a: The Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Sa'adi, conducted an inspection of the Center for People with Special Needs at Sana'a University, examining the center's operations and services.
According to Yemen News Agency, Minister Al-Sa'adi toured the center's facilities, departments, units, and training halls. He assessed the quality of educational, training, and rehabilitation services provided to students with special needs, and explored challenges faced by the center along with potential solutions.
During the visit, the Minister was briefed by the center's director, Dr. Ali Abdul-Malik, on the programs and facilities available for students with special needs. Dr. Abdul-Malik elaborated on the assistive technologies used to enhance academic achievement and integration, as well as the difficulties encountered by the center and suggestions for its improvement.
Minister Al-Sa'adi commended the efforts of the center's management and staff, acknowledging Sana'a University's role in supporting individuals with special needs. He emphasized the significance of enhancing cooperation with relevant entities to improve and expand services and initiatives for people with special needs, recognizing their contribution to societal strength and development.
Dr. Abdul-Malik highlighted that the center offers educational and rehabilitation services, along with diploma, master's, and doctoral programs in special education. The center aims to develop capabilities by training specialized personnel to serve individuals with disabilities and special needs.
He also stressed the necessity of bolstering cooperation with official bodies and associations dedicated to persons with disabilities, to facilitate their education and contribution to societal development.
