Emergency Committee in Taiz Governorate Discusses Preparations for Rain, Floods

Taiz: The Emergency Committee in Taiz Governorate discussed in its meeting today, chaired by the First Deputy Governor and General Mobilization Official, Mohammed Al-Khalidi, the technical and operational preparations for emergency response, foremost among them dealing with heavy rains, expected floods, and any emergency situations.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included Deputy Governors Nu'man Al-Hamri, Hamid Ali, Taha Hammam, the Works Sector official Engineer Bakeel Hamid, the Executive Unit Director Hussam Al-Fatash, the Cleaning Fund Director Talal Al-Soufi, and the Civil Defense Authority Director Colonel Afif Aqlan. They reviewed measures taken to raise readiness, primarily cleaning flood channels, opening culverts, and removing waste from markets and residential neighborhoods, ensuring smooth water flow and avoiding any blockages that could cause damage.

The committee also addressed rapid intervention mechanisms in case of any emergency, stressing that all service agencies (Works, Health, Civil Defense, Roads) must be on maximum alert to carry out their emergency tasks.

During the meeting, the First Deputy Governor praised the efforts made by all offices and service agencies during the past period and the level of performance and discipline they demonstrated, which had a positive impact on alleviating citizens' suffering and overcoming many difficulties.

He emphasized the need to continue this performance, especially in the current stage which requires further cooperation and joint coordination to ensure a rapid response to any emergency, in a manner befitting the scale of challenges and meeting citizens' aspirations.
