Sana'a: A week-long training course on emergency preparedness for water access and groundwater exploration commenced on Saturday in the capital, Sana'a. The initiative, spearheaded by the General Authority for Rural Water Projects and funded by UNICEF, aims to equip staff with essential skills for improving groundwater exploration outcomes.
According to Yemen News Agency, the course is designed to train authority staff in the use of geophysical devices, including electrical and electromagnetic survey tools. These technologies are integral to enhancing the success rates of groundwater exploration efforts.
During the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Water, Adel Badr, reiterated the ministry's dedication to integrating modern technologies to achieve more effective results in groundwater detection. He extended gratitude to UNICEF for their support in providing two state-of-the-art exploration devices and facilitating the training program.
Badr also expressed optimism that participants would gain valuable insights from the course. He encouraged open discussions regarding field challenges, particularly in rural areas characterized by complex geological terrains. Furthermore, he assured the training team of complete support to maximize the use of advanced technologies in locating safe and sustainable water sources for rural development projects.
