Emergency Works Underway on Flood-Damaged Al-Mahwit – Al-Qanawis Road

Al-mahwit: Technical teams from the Executive Unit for Road Construction and Maintenance in Al-Mahwit governorate are continuing to carry out emergency works to address the damage sustained by the "Al-Mahwit - Al-Qanawis" road in the Manakh area of Jabal Al-Mahwit district, caused by floods and heavy rains that led to the road being cut off.

According to Yemen News Agency, the works include removing flood debris, accumulated soil and rocks, opening damaged passages, and addressing cut-off points, contributing to restoring the road's readiness. The Director of the Executive Unit, Engineer Ahmed Al-Yanaei, explained that the unit has mobilized its personnel and equipment and has urgently begun work to open the road and remove obstacles caused by the flood flows. He pointed out that these efforts come in implementation of the directives of the local authority leadership in the governorate to respond swiftly to the damage caused by rains and floods, open affected roads, and alleviate the suffering of citizens.

Meanwhile, the Movement Director at the unit, Mohammed Al-Muslimani, affirmed that field teams continue to perform their duties, while raising the level of readiness and preparedness to deal with any new damage that may result from continued rainfall and flood flows, especially in areas and slopes that experience significant flood flows. He explained that the unit is keen to minimize the impact of floods on the governorate's road network, contributing to its preservation and ensuring the smooth flow of vehicle traffic in various areas of the governorate.
