Endowments, Guidance Authority Denounces Saudi Claims of Yemeni Threats to Mecca as Baseless

Riyadh: The General Authority for Endowments and Guidance has issued a strong condemnation against the Saudi regime's recent allegations that Yemenis are targeting Mecca. The authority criticized the incorporation of Mecca and the sanctity of the Sacred House of God into Saudi Arabia's political and media campaigns against Yemen, labeling these claims as false and baseless.

According to Yemen News Agency, the authority emphasized in its statement that the Saudi allegations are an exposed attempt to exploit the sanctity of the holiest spot on earth. They argue that such claims are designed to stir the emotions of Muslims worldwide and mislead Islamic public opinion. The authority stressed that Mecca and its sacred sites belong to the entire Muslim nation and should not be used for political agendas.

The statement highlighted Yemen's categorical denial of these accusations, clarifying that Yemeni military operations are focused on specific military objectives and not Islamic holy sites. It accused the Saudi regime of using the sanctity of Mecca as propaganda to justify its military aggression and to distort Yemen's image in the eyes of the Islamic community.

The authority condemned the use of religious sanctities as political tools, warning that such actions degrade their sacred status. It called on the Saudi regime to safeguard the sanctity of Mecca and the Two Holy Mosques and to cease using them in political and military conflicts.

Furthermore, the statement accused the Saudi regime of hypocrisy, pointing to its actions of opening airspace to the Zionist entity, erecting a replica of the Kaaba for entertainment purposes, and other violations that undermine the sanctity of Mecca. The authority reiterated Yemenis' commitment to protecting religious sanctities and criticized the Saudi regime for ignoring the humanitarian suffering caused by the war in Yemen.

The General Authority for Endowments and Guidance urged Islamic scholars, religious institutions, and Islamic populations to reject the exploitation of Mecca for political gain. It also called on the media to verify the facts and not propagate the Saudi regime's claims, highlighting the danger of using religious sanctities to incite conflict and serve external agendas. The authority reaffirmed the duty of all Muslims to preserve the sanctity of Mecca and condemned any actions that degrade its sacred status for political purposes.
