Sanaa:The Entisaf Organization for Women and Children's Rights has issued a strong condemnation regarding the opening of offices in Saudi Arabia intended to recruit Yemeni women as domestic workers.
According to Yemen News Agency, the organization described the situation as a blatant violation of rights and called for a thorough investigation. It demands transparency to uncover the circumstances, identify those responsible, and ensure accountability for any exploitation or violation of Yemeni women's rights.
The Entisaf Organization emphasized that employing Yemeni women in conditions that might lead to exploitation, humiliation, or human trafficking is a severe breach of their dignity and human rights. The organization insists on the need for legal and humanitarian protections to prevent coercion or discrimination against these women.
Moreover, the statement explicitly held Saudi authorities accountable for these practices, urging them to cease any exploitation of Yemeni women within their borders. It also called for an independent investigation to identify the entities and individuals managing these recruitment offices and the methods used to recruit and employ the women.
The organization underscored the importance of respecting Yemeni women's dignity and their rights as outlined in international agreements, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and conventions related to human trafficking and forced labor.
Furthermore, Entisaf demanded the creation of secure legal mechanisms for complaints and protection for the affected women, as well as deterrent measures against violators. The organization stressed that Yemeni women's dignity is not a commodity and any violations must be addressed with accountability and justice, without immunity for any parties involved.
