Sana'a: The Environmental Health Department in New Sana'a district of Sana'a governorate has destroyed 21.8 tons of expired bottled water as part of ongoing efforts to protect consumers from potential health risks.
According to Yemen News Agency, the destruction event was attended by a representative from the public prosecution, alongside the district director, Abdullah al-Marwani. Al-Marwani commended the Works Sector for its significant role in inspecting markets and enforcing health standards. He underscored the necessity of strict monitoring and taking legal action against those involved in selling expired or counterfeit goods.
Officials revealed that the expired water was confiscated from a local public water factory, and the appropriate legal procedures were followed to ensure its proper disposal. They highlighted the importance of consumer awareness regarding checking product sources and expiration dates. The officials also urged the public to cooperate with the Environmental Health Department to safeguard community health.
