Establishment of Nahm Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association Declared in Sana’a

Sana'a: The founding electoral meeting for the establishment of the Nahm multi-purpose agricultural cooperative association was held on Thursday in Nahm district of Sana'a province. During the meeting, Development Team Chairman Abdullah Al-Marouni highlighted the role of cooperative associations in facilitating development services and supporting official and community efforts aimed at advancing development and public services in line with citizens' aspirations in the district.

According to Yemen News Agency, Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in the province Majid Al-Ghaili explained that the establishment of multi-purpose agricultural cooperative associations comes in implementation of directives to promote development efforts and cooperative work across various districts. He affirmed that the Nahm Cooperative Association represents an important and direct service platform for residents of the district, helping meet their needs and contributing to addressing many of the challenges they face, particularly in the development sector.

For his part, Nahm district's director Abdul Wali Sarhan praised the efforts of the local authority and the Social Affairs Office in advancing development across the province's districts through a broader strategy aimed at strengthening and developing agricultural cooperative work as a key pillar of food and economic security. He noted that establishing the association is part of ongoing efforts to develop the agricultural sector and enhance cooperation between government institutions and the community.

Director of Associations and Unions at the Social Affairs and Labor Office Mohammed Najjad reviewed the organizational mechanisms and procedures for electing the association's administrative board. He emphasized the importance of allowing participants to nominate and select representatives freely and transparently, and to choose an administration capable of supporting development efforts and meeting field requirements.

At the conclusion of the meeting, attended by Head of the Agricultural Cooperative Union branch in the governorate Ali Azzi, district mobilization official Muzaffar Al-Muzaffar, and founding members, the administrative board was elected through voting. The association was officially announced, and its bylaws were approved.
