Evening Celebrating Prophet’s Birthday in Hodeida Highlights Unity and Resilience

Hodeida: The Health and Environment Office, the Yemeni Red Crescent Society branch, and the General Authority for Environment and Climate Change in Hodeida Governorate organized a celebratory evening yesterday to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, under the theme “Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, and those with him are firm against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves.”

According to Yemen News Agency, the event was co-organized by Al-Samad Kidney Dialysis Center, 21 September Hospital, the health offices in Al-Hali and Al-Mina districts, and the National Center for Central Public Health Laboratories. Attendees included the Deputy Governor for Services Affairs, Muhammad Halisi, the Director of the Health and Environment Office, Dr. Ali Al-Haddad, and the Director of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society branch, Jaber Al-Razihi.

During the evening, Abdulqader Yaghnam, Director General of the General Authority for Environment and Climate Change, emphasized that the Yemeni people’s celebration of the Prophet’s birthday reflects the depth of their connection to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and the values of guidance, mercy, solidarity, and benevolence embodied in his life. The Prophet’s birthday was considered a significant occasion for Yemenis to reaffirm their faith and their role in the issues facing the Muslim world. It was noted that supporting the oppressed and standing against aggression are values embodied in the life of the Prophet Muhammad and are reflected today in the Yemeni people’s stances on the issues facing the Muslim world.

Yaghnem pointed out that the commemoration of the Prophet’s birthday coincides with the ongoing blockade and the crimes committed by the Saudi regime against the Yemeni people. He emphasized that this goes beyond the war on Yemen, serving American and Zionist projects in the region and targeting the will and resources of its people.

He explained that the message of Islam places humanity at the center of society and establishes the values of mercy, solidarity, and care for the vulnerable. He noted that those working in the health and environmental sectors embody these values through their services to the sick and needy, especially under the conditions imposed by the aggression and blockade on the Yemeni people. Yaghnem discussed the significance of the Prophet’s birthday in the hearts of Yemenis, explaining that the celebration of this anniversary derives its meaning from the character of the Prophet Muhammad and the message of guidance, mercy, and reform he brought. He added that Yemeni society preserves this occasion as an integral part of its identity and culture.

He also addressed the challenges facing the health and environment sectors due to the repercussions of the aggression and blockade, and the resulting damage to health and environmental facilities and services. He emphasized that workers in these sectors continue to perform their humanitarian duty despite the difficult circumstances.

He pointed out that the life of the Prophet Muhammad provides a model of mercy and care for humanity, and that commemorating his birthday strengthens the spirit of social solidarity and support for the sick and most vulnerable groups-values that align with the mission of health and humanitarian work. In his address, Abdulrahman Al-Warfi, the head of the Guidance Sector in the governorate, explained that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) brought a message that established mercy as the foundation of human interaction and linked faith with action and benevolence. He stated that commemorating the Prophet’s birth is an opportunity to introduce future generations to his life, his stances, and the values his message embodies to guide humanity.

He pointed out that the desecration of the Holy Quran and the targeting of the nation’s sacred sites are part of attempts to separate Muslims from the Book of Allah and the message of their Prophet. He emphasized that honoring the Prophet necessitates adhering to the Quran and acting upon its teachings, and not reducing the Prophet’s birth to mere celebrations divorced from the profound meanings of the message he carried.

Al-Warfi stressed that the aggression and targeting of Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran necessitate recalling the Prophet’s stances in confronting injustice and supporting the oppressed. He noted that commemorating the Prophet’s birth in Yemen is linked to practical actions regarding the issues facing the nation and affirms the rejection of injustice, aggression, and foreign interference. The evening, attended by the directors of the Civil Service Bureau, Sadiq al-Barai; the 21 September Hospital, Dr. Abdulrahman al-Musaybli; the al-Samad Kidney Dialysis Center, Dr. Ayman al-Kamal; the deputy directors of the governorate’s health office, Muhammad Shuraim and Nashwan Ahmad; the directors of the health offices in al-Hali and al-Mina districts, Hadi Qahim and Abdulkarim al-Saghir, respectively; and directors of private hospitals, included a poem, a choral operetta, and a religious chant.
