Sana'a: The Containment and Control Room Team to Combat Acute Watery Diarrhea held an expanded meeting on Sunday at the Ministry of Administration, Local and Rural Development. Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban and Undersecretary Ammar al-Hareb attended the session, where they reviewed last week's progress and positive field results.
According to Yemen News Agency, attendees emphasized intensifying efforts, enhancing support for ongoing initiatives, and expediting sewage network extension projects. The meeting also focused on prohibiting agriculture within 200 meters of sewage drains, urging relevant ministries and entities, including Electricity, Water, Interior, Local Administration, the Capital Sana'a, and the Water and Sanitation Corporation, to fulfill their responsibilities.
Furthermore, the attendees stressed that local leaders and farmers in the Bani al-Harith district must cease using wastewater for irrigation due to severe public health risks.
