Hodeida: The Eye of Humanity Center for Rights and Development has condemned the attack by mercenaries associated with the Saudi-led aggression on a civilian's home in the Hays district of Hodeida governorate. This assault resulted in the deaths of three women and injuries to two other individuals.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center issued a statement denouncing the incident as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the rules that protect civilians during armed conflict. The attack on a populated civilian home underscores the persistent neglect for civilian safety and highlights the perpetrators' disregard for the severe humanitarian consequences of their actions.
The statement emphasized that such attacks on civilian structures and homes, which endanger women, children, and families, are grave violations that necessitate thorough investigation and accountability. International humanitarian law mandates conflict parties to distinguish between combatants and civilians and to ensure proportionality and precautions to protect non-combatants.
The center expressed grave concerns over the ongoing assaults on residential areas in the Hodeida Governorate, which increase civilian suffering and instill widespread fear and insecurity among families. It called for action from the United Nations, international, and human rights organizations to fulfill their legal and humanitarian duties by condemning these crimes and violations against civilians.
