Fara’ Al-Udayn District Concludes Training Workshop for Production Group Facilitators

Sana'a: A specialized training workshop for production group facilitators concluded on Tuesday in Fara' Al-Udayn district of Ibb governorate. The three-day event was organized by the district's Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative, with funding from the governorate's Executive Unit for Financing Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives.

According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop aimed to equip 30 community facilitators with fundamental concepts regarding the formation, management, and operational dynamics of agricultural production groups, while enhancing their capacities in community agricultural extension. Eng. Mansour Al-Hammadi, Agricultural Extension Representative at the Ministry of Agriculture's General Directorate of Extension Programs, stated that the workshop forms part of the project to activate production groups under the 1447 AH plan. The initiative is executed by local agricultural cooperatives in designated pilot districts under the supervision of the Bonyan Development Foundation, in collaboration with the agricultural sector and the governorate's Agricultural Co-operative Union branch.

Al-Hammadi highlighted that the training focused on developing facilitators' skills in organizing local farmers, moderating group meetings, drafting action plans, and monitoring field interventions. He emphasized the workshop's role in improving agricultural value chains, boosting target crop yields, and achieving sustainable agricultural development.

For his part, Head of the District Agricultural Cooperative Faisal Aqlan noted that facilitators were selected from various sub-districts to act as vital links between executive authorities and local farmers. He underscored their key role in encouraging community participation, driving sound agricultural practices, and enhancing rural household incomes.
