Sanaa: The Health and Environment Office in the Capital Secretariat organized a closing ceremony to honor the health staff, particularly female members, who participated in the health activities during the summer courses held across various directorates in the city.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ceremony highlighted the efforts of the health staff, with Dr. Mutahar Al Marouni, Director of the Health Office, commending their dedication to successfully implementing health activities for summer course students. The activities, spanning one week, involved 2,030 health trainers, including 942 female trainers, across 1,015 summer courses, 471 of which were specifically for female students.
Dr. Al Marouni emphasized the significant role played by the female health staff in fostering a health-conscious culture among students. Their efforts contributed to disease prevention and equipped students with skills to handle injuries and emergencies, especially amidst ongoing challenges.
The health activities are part of a broader initiative by the Health Office to ensure community members gain vital health skills, such as life-saving operations and first aid, crucial in the current context of aggression. Dr. Al Marouni underlined the health sector's resilience, portraying it as a frontline in combating aggression and siege by enhancing community awareness and preparedness.
He also stressed the value of the summer courses in building awareness, strengthening the capacities of youth, and shielding them from harmful ideologies while providing beneficial knowledge and skills.
The ceremony witnessed a statement from female participants, affirming the activities' role in equipping students with essential health knowledge and skills, reinforcing their faith identity and Quranic values. The event also featured performances and the honoring of female staff for their contributions to the health activities conducted during the summer courses.
