Al-bayda: A tribal reconciliation, spearheaded by Al-Bayda Governor Abdullah Idris, successfully concluded a four-year-old murder case between cousins from the Al-Zanmi family in Al-Fuqah sub-district of Al-Arsh District. The resolution was achieved during a gathering on Friday, where the relatives of victim Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Zanmi pardoned the perpetrator, Ali Abdulmajeed Al-Zanmi.
According to Yemen News Agency, the reconciliation event was attended by notable figures including Deputy Governors Saleh Al-Joufi and Nasser Al-Aji, President of Al-Bayda University Dr. Ahmed Al-Arami, and Al-Arsh District Director Maher Al-Tayri, along with local dignitaries and social figures. The pardon was granted in the spirit of honoring Allah Almighty, those present, and in response to the Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi's call for promoting values of tolerance and brotherhood within the community.
Governor Abdullah Idris commended the victim's family for their magnanimous gesture to forgive and resolve the case. He emphasized the significance of healing societal wounds, unifying communities, and fostering values of harmony and tolerance. The governor highlighted that addressing blood feuds is both a social and national priority due to their detrimental impacts on society and economy. He called for collective efforts from officials and community members to pursue amicable and satisfactory resolutions to such disputes.
Governor Idris urged the citizens of the province to emulate this exemplary act of forgiveness and reconciliation, encouraging them to move beyond past grievances and prioritize societal interests to enhance security, stability, and social cohesion.
The family of the victim reiterated that their decision to pardon was in alignment with the Revolution Leader's appeal for reconciliation and strengthening social unity. The sheikhs and attendees acknowledged the efforts invested in bridging the gap between the two parties, which facilitated the resolution and closure of the case.
