Taiz: A joint development team in Taiz Province conducted on Sunday a field visit to a number of districts and liberated areas in Maqbanah, Jabal Habashi, and Al-Ma'afer districts to assess local conditions and the urgent needs of residents.
According to Yemen News Agency, the visit included Engineer Badraddin Al-Tayyar, representative of the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit for Taiz and Lahj provinces; Al-Ma'afer District Director General Abdulraqeeb Saif; local authorities' representatives; and the unit's engineering team. The team identified priority interventions aimed at alleviating residents' hardships, enhancing stability, and creating suitable conditions for the return of displaced people.
The team assessed road infrastructure needs, particularly the project to open, survey, and expand the road linking Al-Akhloud in Maqbanah District with Al-Kadhah area in Al-Mashawalah, Al-Ma'afer District. The road is considered vital as it connects several liberated areas and districts and facilitates the movement of residents and access to essential services.
The team indicated that the project would serve several districts in Maqbanah, including Al-Akhloud, Al-Ashmalah, Al-Afif, Al-Fikaykah, Al-Afeerah, Al-Qahifah, Al-Abadilah, and Al-Yaman, extending to Al-Kadhah in Al-Ma'afer and onward to areas linked to Jabal Habashi.
The visit also identified a number of service and development needs, contributing to an integrated assessment of conditions in the liberated areas and helping determine the most urgent interventions based on priorities and available resources.
