Saada: The Governor of Saada, Mohammed Awad, along with the Secretary-General of the Local Council of the Governorate, Mohammed Al-Imad, inaugurated the commencement of a major project focused on asphalting, paving, and rehabilitating several internal streets in the city center. This initiative is co-funded by the local authority and the Road Maintenance Fund.
According to Yemen News Agency, the project plans to asphalt and pave more than 3,500 meters of streets, with an additional implementation of a thin asphalt layer over 2,500 meters of damaged roads. The estimated cost of the project is 510 million riyals, and it will be carried out directly by the Executive Unit for the Construction, Maintenance, and Development of Roads and Public Places in Saada.
During the launch event, which was also attended by governorate undersecretaries Engineer Ibrahim Al-Nimri, Mohammed Kaibah, and Mohammed Al-Badani, Awad and Al-Imad assessed the ongoing work on "Nasreen - University - Association of Persons with Disabilities" Street. They were briefed by Engineer Ibrahim Al-Nimri, the Governorate Undersecretary for Works Affairs and Director of the Executive Unit for Roads, on the project's progress, components, and technical specifications, all designed to enhance traffic flow and ease citizens' hardships.
Governor Awad emphasized the significance of this project for improving Saada's infrastructure and easing citizen movement, reaffirming a commitment to carrying out road service projects across the governorate despite challenging conditions.
The event was attended by several executive and local leaders from the governorate.
