Free Eye Camp to Launch Next Wednesday in Al-Khokha, Hodeida

Sana'a: The Health Care Society for Affected Communities will launch its 80th free eye surgery medical camp the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Al-Khokha District of Hodeida Governorate. The event coincides with the 12th-anniversary celebrations of the September 21 Revolution.

According to Yemen News Agency, the camp, which will be held at the district hospital from the 5th to the 10th of Rabi' al-Thani, is funded by the General Authority for Zakat in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Environment. It aims to provide medical examinations and perform cataract removal surgeries.

Hassan Tammah, Head of the Health Committee at the General Authority for Zakat, emphasized the commitment to supporting and funding medical camps to alleviate citizens' suffering, assist the needy, and meet healthcare needs in remote areas where services are otherwise unavailable.

For his part, Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, Head of the Health Care Society, explained to the Yemen News Agency (Saba) that this free camp is part of a series of camps organized by the Society. These initiatives are part of social solidarity projects that embody the compassion of Islam, a commitment to caring for the poor, and the implementation of charitable and benevolent acts.

He noted that during the first three days of the camp-organized in cooperation with the Governorate's Health Office-medical examinations and screenings will be conducted to identify cases requiring surgical intervention and to perform pre-operative tests.

Dr. Al-Attab commended the efforts of the Zakat Authority in supporting the camp to alleviate the suffering of citizens caused by the current circumstances facing the country.
