Al-bayda: The first National Education Forum was held in Al-Bayda Governorate under the slogan "Education is Everyone's Responsibility."
According to Yemen News Agency, the forum, organized by the education sector, aimed to strengthen community partnerships to support the educational process and unify official and community efforts to advance the education sector and improve its outcomes. This initiative is seen as a means to equip a generation with the necessary knowledge and skills.
The forum reviewed the vision aimed at achieving comprehensive, sustainable, and high-quality education based on community partnerships. It is intended to prepare a conscious and qualified generation capable of facing challenges and contributing to building society.
Discussions at the forum focused on the current state of education in the governorate and highlighted prominent challenges such as the needs of school infrastructure, the phenomenon of student dropout, training of teaching staff, and the provision of modern educational resources.
Al-Bayda Governor Abdullah Idris emphasized the importance of recognizing national responsibility in implementing the forum's outcomes. He stressed the need for strengthening field presence, monitoring the educational process, and submitting periodic reports that reflect the actual situation in schools and educational administrations.
Supervisory work was underscored as a fundamental pillar for ensuring the success of the academic year, with a focus on monitoring school attendance, verifying the presence of teaching staff and students, and overseeing all activities.
Governor Idris explained that the current phase requires seriousness and discipline in performing supervisory tasks to ensure the advancement of educational work. He stressed the importance of continuous field visits and responsible handling of observations and reports to contribute to improving performance, addressing shortcomings, and reinforcing achievements.
He indicated that the local authority in the governorate will continue to support the education sector and work with various entities and partners to provide a successful educational environment. He praised the efforts of educational and community leaders in supporting education and strengthening the resilience of teachers and students.
Sarhan Sawad, head of the education sector, considered the National Forum an important milestone for evaluating the reality of education, identifying its needs, and developing practical visions and recommendations to improve educational performance. He affirmed that the education sector in the governorate has achieved many accomplishments over the past years, thanks to the resilience of teachers and all partners in the educational process.
Abbas Karman, Director of the Training and Qualification Department in the Education Sector, reviewed working papers and topics related to the state of education in the governorate. He highlighted achievements made in recent years and key recommendations aimed at supporting the education sector and enhancing the sustainability of the educational process.
Among the most prominent recommendations were the formation of a community committee to support education, tasked with coordinating efforts and unifying initiatives. There was also a call for an awareness campaign to promote community partnership and the mobilization of official and community bodies, the private sector, and donors to support education. Additionally, the search for sustainable funding sources was emphasized, given the limited resources and revenues.
The forum was attended by the directors of Al-Bayda City, Ahmed Al-Rassas, and Al-Bayda Rural District, Adel Al-Kassadi, as well as local and executive leaders.
