First Open Padel Tournament Competitions in Sana’a Reach Semi-Finals

Sana’a: The competitions of the first open padel tournament, organized by the Tennis, Squash, and Padel Federation, have reached an advanced stage of contention after the qualifiers for the golden square were determined.

According to Yemen News Agency, the quarter-final matches of the tournament, organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and with support from “Y” Telecommunications Company, resulted in the duo Fares Al-Wazir and Abdullah Al-Marouni qualifying for the semi-finals after defeating the duo Ibrahim Al-Qutari and Mohammed Al-Kaboudi in two sets to nil, with scores of 6/1 and 6/2.

Advancing to the same round were Nawaf Al-Amiri and Mohammed Jibran, who defeated Mohammed Al-Kabari and Ahmed Al-Maghribi 6/3 – 6/3. Bakr Al-Akwa’ and Ahmed Al-Akwa’ also secured their place in the semi-finals by defeating Sultan Al-Mismari and Rashid Al-Hamdani 9/4 – 9/0. Additionally, Ahmed Al-Sammah and Mu’tasim Al-Houthi moved forward by overcoming Mohammed Hibah and Abdulmalik Surayh with
scores of 6/3 – 6/3.

Eighty players from the youth, junior, veterans, and senior categories are participating in the tournament competitions. These events are organized within the framework of the Tennis, Squash, and Padel Federation’s plan for the current sports season and will continue until next Saturday.
