Hodeida: The first scientific youth conference, organized by the Youth Development Association in partnership with Hodeida University, is set to commence tomorrow in al-Dhahi district, Hodeida governorate. The event, themed "Youth, Construction, and Change," will bring together academics, researchers, and young individuals focused on new generation issues.
According to Yemen News Agency, the conference aims to create an academic platform for youth to discuss their roles in enhancing faith-based identity and their involvement in development at local and national levels. The agenda includes dialogue sessions and scientific discussions covering development, empowerment, awareness, and social responsibility.
The two-day event, shaped by a scientific vision from Hodeida University specialists and surveys by the Youth Development Association, offers a framework to address youth challenges, strengthen identity, and empower them economically. It seeks to establish communication channels between youth and authorities to support empowerment projects, stimulate creativity, and counter extremist ideology and harmful behaviors.
The Youth Development Association aims to transition youth work in Hodeida to a research-based framework, aligning university and youth initiative visions. This approach aims to reflect youth roles in national development projects. Conference sessions will focus on youth roles in identity and development, highlighting volunteer work and local development experiences.
The conference offers a platform for youth to express aspirations in education, public affairs, and training needs, emphasizing belonging and participation in shaping development visions. Fadel al-Dhayani, head of the Youth Development Association, views the conference as a step toward organized youth work, coordinated with Hodeidah University and youth organizations to reflect new generation priorities.
Al-Dhayani emphasizes transforming the conference into a permanent dialogue platform, building participant networks, and submitting outcomes to authorities. Dr. Mohammed al-Ahdal, President of Hodeidah University, affirms the university's commitment to linking academic efforts with community needs, stressing youth as key future shapers.
The conference is expected to identify Hodeidah youth priorities, particularly regarding faith-based identity, community service participation, and economic and social development. Recommendations may include establishing regular conferences, launching training programs, and creating follow-up mechanisms to translate outcomes into actionable steps with stakeholders.
This inaugural scientific conference for youth in Hodeida reflects a commitment to investing in youth awareness and potential, linking identity with development and change, and granting them a pivotal role in shaping the future.
