Hodeida: Hodeida Governor Abdullah Atifi, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Services Affairs Mohammed Halisi, today inaugurated the first semester final exams for transfer classes for the 1447 AH academic year.
According to Yemen News Agency, the inauguration took place at Al-Shaheed Al-Samad Schools in Al-Hali and Al-Hawak districts, as well as Abu Bakr School in Al-Mina district. Governor Atifi and Halisi, along with the governorate's education sector official, Omar Bahr, assessed the progress of the exams and evaluated the conducive environment created to ensure students can successfully complete this critical educational milestone.
Governor Atifi commended the success of the first semester and the resilience of the education sector in the governorate, despite ongoing challenges. He emphasized the local authority's dedication to providing quality education that aligns with students' aspirations and strengthens their future prospects.
He underscored the importance of shared responsibility among the education sector, relevant authorities, parents, and the community. This collective effort is vital for the success of the educational process, which serves as a fundamental foundation for building the future of both students and the nation.
The Governor also reaffirmed the local authority's commitment to supporting and sustaining the educational process, expressing appreciation for the efforts of the educational and administrative staff who strive to ensure the success of this significant educational event.
Undersecretary for Services Affairs highlighted that the exams symbolize the perseverance of the educational front and the commitment of its staff to the continuity of education, which is crucial for societal development and positive change. He noted that the exams aim to assess the level of academic achievement during the academic year, stressing the importance of providing a suitable environment for students to ensure efficient and transparent exam conduct.
The official responsible for the education sector in the governorate lauded the support and continuous monitoring by the local authority leadership, which reflects a commitment to improving and developing the educational system. He mentioned that the exams are proceeding according to the plan approved by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, adhering to educational standards and procedures. The total number of exam applicants reached 600,000 students, spread across 1,600 schools for all transfer grades in the primary and secondary stages. The inauguration was attended by the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Imad Al-Barai, the Director of Al-Hali District, Mu'ayyad Al-Mu'ayyad, the Secretary of the Local Council in the Mina and Al-Hawak districts, and several education directors in the city's squares.
