Sana'a: Foreign Minister Jamal Amer held a meeting in the capital Sana'a with senior envoy of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Yemen, Abdullah al-Wardat, to discuss measures for enhancing trust and ensuring effective delivery of humanitarian assistance.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting focused on overcoming current challenges and implementing practical steps to guarantee that aid reaches the most needy with dignity. Minister Amer emphasized building on tangible initiatives by the WFP envoy as a foundation for restoring trust and productive cooperation.
Amer stressed the government's commitment to facilitate operations that alleviate the suffering caused by the ongoing blockade, particularly for the most vulnerable communities, and underlined strict adherence to international health and food standards.
In return, al-Wardat praised the positive spirit of cooperation with Yemeni authorities, affirming the WFP's historical partnership with the government and its commitment to continue and develop humanitarian operations.
He also highlighted funding challenges and ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure necessary support from donors to sustain critical aid throughout Yemen.
