Sana'a: Member of Parliament Dr Ali Al Zanem and the Deputy Governor of Ibb province Abdul Wahid Al Marawi today inaugurated the 36th folk heritage art exhibition. This event, organised by the Cultural Centre in the province, marks the 36th National Day of the Republic of Yemen, celebrated on 22 May.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr Al Zanem, Deputy Governor Al Marawi, and Abdul Hakim Muqbil, head of the culture sector in the province, were introduced to the exhibition's offerings by its supervisors and participants. The exhibition features 120 artistic paintings that depict aspects of folk heritage and Yemeni cultural identity, showcasing the creativity and talents of the Cultural Centre's female students in drawing and visual arts.
The visitors commended the artistic and creative quality of the exhibition as well as the national and heritage themes present in the paintings. They noted that these artworks reflect a generational connection to cultural and civilisational identity and emphasized the importance of supporting cultural and artistic activities that foster talent development and enhance community awareness of folk heritage.
Dr Al Zanem highlighted the significance of such exhibitions as important cultural and national initiatives aimed at preserving Yemeni identity and showcasing the country's rich civilisational heritage. He praised the efforts of the Culture Office and Cultural Centre in nurturing young talents and encouraging creativity and excellence.
Deputy Governor Al Marawi stated that the exhibition is a testament to the distinguished cultural and artistic presence of Ibb province. He acknowledged the vital role played by cultural institutions in reinforcing national values and reviving folk heritage in a contemporary manner, while also appreciating the level of organisation and participation by the Cultural Centre's female students.
Abdul Hakim Muqbil noted that the exhibition is part of a series of cultural events held by the culture sector in the province to celebrate national and religious occasions. He expressed a commitment to expanding interest in young talents and highlighting their creative energies across various cultural and artistic fields.
