Sana'a: The Undersecretary for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Ismail Al-Mutawakkil, met with Francesca Quinto, Head of Programs for the Middle East at the Swiss-based M©decins Sans Fronti¨res (Doctors Without Borders), to discuss ways to strengthen joint cooperation and continue humanitarian and medical programs and projects in Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, Ambassador Al-Mutawakkil emphasized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' commitment to supporting and facilitating the work of humanitarian organizations and overcoming any challenges they face. This commitment aims to ensure that health services reach those in need, especially given the current circumstances in the country.
He also stressed the importance of adhering to legal and regulatory procedures to preserve the sovereignty of the state while ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of humanitarian work.
Meanwhile, the Head of Programs at M©decins Sans Fronti¨res confirmed that there has been no reduction in the volume of aid and interventions provided. She noted the continued operation of medical teams in Al-Dahi District in Al-Hodeidah Governorate and Al-Qaa'ida District in Ibb Governorate, in addition to emergency teams operating through mobile clinics for rapid humanitarian response.
Quinto also explained that the inspection procedures undergone by the organization were legal, conducted respectfully, according to approved frameworks, and did not affect the delivery of services to beneficiaries.
