Launch of In-Kind Zakat Distribution Project from Cereal Crops in Dhamar

Dhamar: The Dhamar office of the General Authority for Zakat launched an in-kind zakat distribution project from cereal crops for the poor and needy for the 1447 AH harvest season, under the slogan: 'And give its due on the day of its harvest.' The project includes the distribution of 9,837 measures of various types of grains, worth 103,700,000 Yemeni riyals, to 9,837 families across the governorate's districts.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch, Governor Deputy Mahmoud Al-Jabin emphasized the importance of charitable projects by the Authority, which cover all districts of the governorate. He stressed the significance of fulfilling the obligation of zakat as a means of purifying souls and wealth, enabling the Authority to perform its duties toward the poor and needy. Al-Jabin praised the efforts of the Dhamar Zakat Authority office in providing both cash and in-kind zakat assistance to rightful beneficiaries and supporting charitable projects.

Al-Jabin confirmed the local authority's commitment to overcoming challenges and ensuring the success of the Zakat Authority's projects. Deputy of the General Authority for Zakat for Awareness Sector, Hafidhallah Zaid, stated that the launch is an application of the zakat obligation, emphasizing its importance in bringing blessing to wealth and purifying the soul. He urged zakat payers to give their zakat on time and strengthen community cooperation with the Authority's efforts.

Director of the Dhamar Zakat Authority office, Ibrahim Al-Mutawakkil, highlighted that the in-kind zakat distribution project coincides with the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, underscoring the importance of zakat in extending help to the needy. He noted that the projects by the General Authority for Zakat are among the outcomes of the 21 September Revolution. Despite its recent establishment, the Authority has achieved numerous accomplishments, including humanitarian and economic empowerment projects.

Al-Mutawakkil stated that the office implemented several projects last year, benefiting 92,397 families at a cost of 2,875,596,000 Yemeni riyals. He confirmed that the Authority's projects will continue to expand, urging zakat payers to promptly give zakat, as it follows divine commands and brings growth and protection to wealth.

The launch event, attended by officials including Brigadier General Saleh Hajeb and Nabil Al-Qarmani, featured the recitation of a meaningful poem.
