Sana’a: Foreign Minister Jamal Amer met today with the Head of the Dutch Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Mission in Sana’a, Teela Wali Khair Muhammad. The meeting focused on the activities of the Dutch MSF, with particular emphasis on the ongoing preparations for transferring the management of a hospital in Al-Huban, Taiz, from joint administration with the organization to the Yemeni Ministry of Health and local authorities.
According to Yemen News Agency, Minister Jamal Amer highlighted the independence of all branches of Doctors Without Borders, including the Dutch section, noting their reliance on individual donors rather than state funding, which allows them to avoid political influence, especially from the United States. He reaffirmed the leadership in Sana’a’s commitment to treating all Yemeni citizens equally, regardless of their location, and urged international organizations to implement projects addressing urgent humanitarian needs.
The Dutch MSF Mission Head expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation extended to the organization, emphasizing that MSF operates solely on humanitarian grounds within the healthcare sector.
