Taiz: A broad meeting was held today in Taiz province, bringing together Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Major General Abdul Latif al-Mahdi, Acting Governor Ahmed al-Masawi, along with local, military, security leaders, scholars, tribal sheikhs, and social figures. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the situation in the province, aspects of participation in the celebratory events marking the Prophet's birthday, and mobilization efforts for the central event on this religious occasion. Discussions focused on organizing mass participation, coordination between official, military, and community entities, and ensuring the commemoration reflects the reverence of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family.
According to Yemen News Agency, Acting Governor al-Masawi stressed that the Yemeni people, through their steadfast positions, are restoring the dignity and historic role of the Muslim nation, under the leadership of Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the President and members of the Supreme Political Council, and the Government of Change and Construction. He praised the efforts of the Fourth Military Region leadership and its support for development projects in the province, affirming the solidarity of Taiz residents with the region's leadership and personnel to ensure the success of local development initiatives.
Major General al-Mahdi commended the people of Taiz for their cooperation and resilience in confronting internal and external conspiracies, and for their sacrifices in defense of the nation's dignity and sovereignty against occupiers and their proxies. He emphasized that the Prophet's birthday is an opportunity to strengthen care for the vulnerable, including orphans, the poor, and families of martyrs and wounded.
Al-Mahdi urged intensified efforts to prepare for the celebrations with acts of charity and community service, in the spirit of the Prophet's legacy. He stated that all Yemenis bear responsibility before God to ensure wide participation in the commemorations and proper preparation for the central event.
He further noted that Yemen's steadfast support for Gaza has frustrated U.S. and Israeli attempts to divert the Yemeni people from their principled stance. According to him, the adversaries, after failing in their direct aggression against Yemen, are resorting to using local proxies and mercenaries as part of a broader scheme.
Al-Mahdi affirmed that Yemen's position in support of Gaza is a reflection of the nation's identity and a divine blessing that cannot be reversed despite challenges. He stressed that no external power could force Yemen to abandon its solidarity with Gaza and the Palestinian cause.
He reiterated that the U.S.-Israeli plan has been exposed and that Yemeni security and military forces are fully prepared to confront and foil such conspiracies, regardless of the enemy's resources.
In a welcoming address, Provincial Mobilization Official Mohammed al-Khalidi highlighted the significance of holding this expanded meeting in conjunction with Yemen's commemoration of the Prophet's birthday, and in the context of the nation's principled stance in support of Palestine and the oppressed in Gaza, and in confronting U.S. and Israeli hegemony.
