Free Eye Surgery Camp to Serve Hundreds in Al-Zuhrah District

Al-Zuhrah:Al-Zuhrah District: Grameen Yemen Foundation is set to inaugurate its 29th free eye surgery camp in Al-Zuhrah District, Hodeidah, starting next Sunday.

According to Yemen News Agency, the five-day camp will be conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Environment and its Hodeidah office. The initiative will include 400 surgeries for cataracts and lens implantation, along with medical examinations and the distribution of free medication.

Camp Director Abdulkhaleq Al-Khamisi stated that the camp, located in the Al-Maress area, is designed to alleviate the burden on poor and low-income patients. The initial two days will focus on examinations and identifying the cases that require surgery.

Al-Khamisi highlighted that this camp is a continuation of 28 previous campaigns, which have successfully served thousands of patients by providing 9,345 free cataract removal and lens implantation surgeries.
