Sanaa: The General Federation of Yemeni Trade Unions congratulated all Yemeni workers, both men and women, in all workplaces and production sites, on the occasion of International Workers' Day, affirming its commitment to improving workers' living conditions.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Federation saluted the resilient workers who, through their steadfastness, thwarted all the enemy's schemes, shouldered their national and historical responsibility, and foiled the aggression coalition's attempts to break their spirit and morale through the systematic destruction of all aspects of life, including civilian infrastructure, industrial and agricultural complexes, production centers, and fishing facilities.
The Federation reiterated its commitment to improving workers' living conditions, participating in the development of labor laws and regulations, strengthening social dialogue, consolidating the role of trade unions in comprehensive development, promoting a culture of labor, developing workers' capabilities and skills, and raising the necessary awareness to avoid risks in various work environments. This commitment stems from its belief that protecting the working individual is fundamental to any production process and essential for building and development. Labor Day was considered an opportunity to highlight the pivotal role of workers in the comprehensive development process and in confronting internal and external challenges.
The importance of partnership in developing labor systems and regulations to achieve a balance between the three parties of production-government, employers, and workers-was emphasized, particularly regarding all matters related to workers' rights and responsibilities.
The union reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to standing with the nation and supporting efforts aimed at achieving an honorable peace that guarantees Yemen's sovereignty and independence, ends the aggression, lifts the land, sea, and air blockade, terminates the occupation, and ensures the payment of reparations.
