Arhab: The body of Sheikh General Yahya bin Abdullah al-Athari was laid to rest in Arhab district in Sana’a province on Thursday, marking the end of a life dedicated to political and tribal service.
According to Yemen News Agency, the funeral was attended by a large gathering of sheikhs from Arhab, Hashid, Bakil, Mudhaj, alongside numerous officials and state representatives. The mourners paid tribute to General al-Athari’s significant contributions and honorable national positions throughout various stages of his career. He notably served as the first governor of Amran province following its establishment.
The attendees offered prayers for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for the deceased, while also seeking patience and solace for his family and relatives. Following prayers at the village mosque, General al-Athari’s body was interred in his hometown, in the village of Beit Al-Athari, located in the Shaab area of Arhab district.
