Sana'a: The central events held in al-Sabeen Square in the capital Sana'a and the celebration squares in various governorates witnessed broad participation by people with disabilities, expressing their love and loyalty to the Messenger of God, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
According to Yemen News Agency, the presence of this segment of people reflected the depth of religious and national belonging of people with disabilities, like other members of the Yemeni people. They insisted on being an active part of one of the greatest religious occasions, alongside other segments of society, in a clear message that disability does not mean a lack of effectiveness or contribution to community and religious life.
The organizing committee of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled confirmed that thousands of people with physical, visual, and hearing disabilities arrived at the celebration venues from various directorates, some in wheelchairs, others with the help of their families or through the efforts of specialized associations and centers. This demonstrates the concerted community efforts to overcome any obstacles facing this group.
The committee explained that appropriate spaces were designated to receive people with disabilities, in addition to providing field and organizational services to facilitate their transportation and ensure their full and effective participation, amid widespread community interaction and appreciation for their presence.
In this context, the Fund's Executive Director, Dr. Ali Mughli, praised the large participation of people with disabilities, which reflects their deep connection to the Noble Prophet, their adherence to his teachings, and their support for the causes of the Islamic nation, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. He pointed out that this interaction is not merely a passing presence, but rather a message that disability cannot be an obstacle to loyalty and belonging, highlighting the important national role played by this group in strengthening cohesion and consolidating religious and cultural identity.
Dr. Mughli stated that this participation embodies the role of the Fund and relevant associations in empowering people with disabilities and enhancing their role in major community events. For his part, Dr. Abdullah Baniyan, President of the National Federation of Associations for the Disabled, emphasized that participation in this great occasion expresses joy at the light and guidance that God sent His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to all people. He pointed out that people with disabilities have proven their presence today in all arenas, embodying the values of faith that promote unity and societal cohesion.
He explained that this participation reflects a will that transcends challenges and the ability of people with disabilities to make their voices heard, expressing love, loyalty, and connection to the Noble Messenger. For his part, Majid Al-Nahmi, Cultural and Social Officer at the Fund, pointed out that the participation of people with disabilities is not merely an expression of joy and celebration of the Prophet's birthday, but rather a message to enemies that the Yemeni people, in all their categories, are united in the face of challenges and difficulties, and steadfast behind their wise leadership in defending religion and homeland.
He emphasized that this occasion provided people with disabilities with an opportunity to express their feelings and their place in society, praising the efforts made to facilitate their participation. A number of heads and directors of associations and centers for people with disabilities expressed their pride and honor in participating in this great religious occasion, considering their presence on the anniversary of the birth of the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers a great honor and an incentive to continue the process of development.
People with disabilities have proven that they are true partners in building awareness and national and religious identity, and that they are capable of overcoming challenges and contributing effectively to all national and religious events. Their broad participation in commemorating the Prophet's birthday reflects a strong will, high spirits, and an unwavering commitment to the values of the sublime message of Muhammad.
