Kunming: The Forum on Media and Think Tanks in the Global South 2025 officially opened today in Kunming, Hainan Province, southwest China, under the theme 'Empowering the Global South in Addressing Global Challenges.'
According to Sudan News Agency, the two-day event brings together 500 participants representing media outlets, think tanks, government bodies, and international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, the South Centre, ASEAN, and the African Union.
Organized by Xinhua News Agency, the Communist Party of China Committee in Hainan, and the provincial government, the forum is one of the most prominent international platforms that convenes media, think tanks, and policymakers from across the Global South. It aims to amplify their collective voice on the world stage and discuss issues of development, peace, and intercultural dialogue.
