Khartoum: The Higher Committee for Preparing the General Environment for Citizens' Return to Khartoum State held a meeting on Saturday. The session was chaired by Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Gabir, a member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), and attended by key figures including the Ministers of Defense, Interior, Energy and Petroleum, as well as the Wali (governor) of Khartoum State.

According to Sudan News Agency, the committee reviewed several reports, notably from the Water Committee. The reports highlighted that ten out of thirteen Nile stations are currently operational. However, the Buri and Tuti stations are still pending, and efforts to stabilize electricity at the Shajara station are ongoing.

The meeting also addressed the maintenance of infrastructure, focusing on bridges and roads. Damage assessments were conducted on the Shambat and Halfaia bridges, and there was a discussion on the necessity of securing bitumen for road rehabilitation. Until repairs are completed, Jabir recommended the use of alternative bridges.

Additionally, the committee evaluated reports from various sectors, including Media, Youth and Sports, and Security Control and Upholding State Authority. They issued directives for these areas to be implemented within the current month.
