Gold Prices Fall Below $4,000 Amid Strong Dollar and Eased Trade Tensions

Moscow: Gold prices fell below $4,000 an ounce on Tuesday as the dollar remained near its highest level in more than three months. The decline in the likelihood of another US interest rate cut in December and the easing of trade tensions between the United States and China weakened demand for the precious metal. According to Yemen News Agency, spot gold fell 0.2% to $3,992.23 an ounce by 03:43 GMT. US gold futures for December delivery dropped 0.3% to $4,001.40 an ounce. The dollar held steady near a three-month high, as the Federal Reserve's internal divisions led traders to reduce bets on an interest rate cut. The Federal Reserve cut interest rates last week for the second time this year, but its chairman, Jerome Powell, said that another cut in 2025 was "not a given."
