Taiz:Government Spokesperson Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti condemned a massacre committed by Saudi forces in the Hamir Al-Jabal area of Maqbana District, Taiz Governorate. The attack resulted in the death of nine citizens, including women and children, and injured 16 others, with some residents still trapped under the rubble of their homes.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Bukhaiti stated that this crime highlights the Saudi forces’ continued bloodshed and violations of international laws. He criticized the recent escalation by Saudi forces, who targeted homes in the villages of Al-Urr and Barza’a in Dhooran Anss District, Dhamar Governorate, using cluster bombs. This attack led to the death of three children and injured seven citizens, including women.
Dr. Al-Bukhaiti emphasized that the use of internationally banned munitions, such as cluster bombs, indicates that targeting civilians is a primary objective for Saudi forces in their operations against Yemen. He highlighted the Saudi forces’ disregard for Yemeni children and women’s lives.
The spokesperson condemned the ongoing international silence on these crimes, describing it as hypocrisy and double standards. He criticized international governments for taking positions that benefit the oppressor in exchange for economic gains. Dr. Al-Bukhaiti reaffirmed that these attacks would not break the Yemeni people’s resolve but would instead strengthen their resistance. He noted the toll of 12 years of conflict, which has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and a blockade that has caused the deaths of 1.4 million citizens due to lack of medical supplies and travel restrictions for treatment.
