Hodeidah: The Governor of Ibb, Abdulwahid Salah, today inspected the needs of the Ibb Sports Stadium, which will host a number of Republic-level First Division football league matches scheduled to begin on April 9th. The Governor, accompanied by member of the Shura Council, Nabil Al-Hubaishi, and the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Ibrahim Al-Masawi, listened to an explanation from the Director of the Sports City, Captain Abdullah Ghazi, about the most prominent technical needs, equipment, and necessary supplies required to prepare the stadium to host the matches, especially those that the Ittihad Ibb club will play as part of the league competitions.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, the Governor of Ibb directed the relevant authorities to quickly complete the preparation of the stadium's pitch and its sports hall, and to carry out necessary maintenance and repair work to ensure the stadium's readiness to host matches in a manner befitting the governorate and the status of sports within it.
He affirmed the keenness of the local authority leadership to support sports activities and prepare facilities to contribute to the success of various events and tournaments, and to provide a suitable environment for youth to practice their sports activities and develop their talents.
Governor Salah pointed out that the Ibb Stadium represents one of the most prominent sports facilities in the governorate, which requires concerted efforts to maintain and develop it so that it can host sports tournaments and events, stressing the importance of coordination between the relevant authorities to provide the basic requirements before the league start date, to ensure the organization of matches in a distinguished manner and reflect the civilized image of the governorate.
He praised the efforts of the Youth and Sports Office and those in charge of the stadium in following up on its needs and working to prepare it, affirming that supporting the sports sector represents a real investment in the energies of youth and the development of their capabilities.
The Governor of Ibb noted that the local authority will work to follow up on the implementation of directives related to maintenance work and equipment promptly, to ensure the stadium's readiness to host the league matches on their scheduled date.
