Saada: The Governor of Saada, Mohammed Awad, inspected today the progress of the second phase of the "Fallah" water lake project in Majz District, funded by the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities and through a community initiative.
According to Yemen News Agency, the governor listened to a briefing from the Director of the branch of the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities in the province, Engineer Ahmed Al-Jaradi, and representatives of the community committee about the project's components and the nature of the work being carried out. This includes completing excavation, backfilling, and leveling works. They explained the importance of the project, which has a storage capacity of more than 650,000 cubic meters, in recharging groundwater for the areas of the Saada water basin.
The governor affirmed the importance of implementing projects such as lakes, water barriers, dams, and culverts in recharging groundwater, especially in the Saada basin, which is being depleted due to the expansion of agricultural activities.
He praised the projects of the Water Resources and Facilities Authority in the province, calling for encouraging community initiatives to adopt such important projects that positively reflect on serving the agricultural and development sectors in the province.
