Hajjah: The Hajjah branch of the General Authority for Writers organized a seminar on Wednesday focusing on the life and legacy of Martyr President Saleh Al-Sammad, the strategic importance of the Washha fortress, and the contributions of the late Dr. Abdulkarim Nasar. This event was conducted as part of the weekly 'Reading is Life' program.
According to Yemen News Agency, Province undersecretary Adel Shuli discussed the various challenges faced by Al-Sammad during his time as president of the Supreme Political Council. Shuli highlighted Al-Sammad's courage and wisdom, particularly in relation to his development initiative, 'One Hand Protects, One Hand Builds,' which served as a model for national resilience.
Dean of the University of Quranic Sciences, Abdullah Miyah, spoke about Al-Sammad's extensive knowledge and intellect. Miyah noted Al-Sammad's contributions across military, political, social, and cultural fields, as well as his ability to engage and mobilize communities in faith-driven national service.
In a subsequent session, Dean Rassas al-Nimr provided details on the fortified Washha prison, emphasizing its strategic location and innovative water systems, including rainwater harvesting techniques.
The seminar concluded by honoring the late Dr. Abdulkarim Nasar. Deputy Governor Shuli, along with scholar Abdulmajid Sharaf Al-Din and researcher Abdulkarim Al-Maruni, commemorated Nasar's pioneering work in the healthcare sector of Hajjah and his enduring impact on its administrative and social landscape.
