Hajjah University Workshop Focuses on Accreditation of PhD Program in Islamic Studies

Hajjah: The Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and the Faculty of Education and Humanities at Hajjah University, in collaboration with the Center for Quality Assurance and Academic Development, recently organized an academic workshop aimed at accrediting the PhD program in Islamic Studies and Quranic Sciences.

According to Yemen News Agency, University President Dr. Taha al-Hamzi highlighted the significance of meeting accreditation requirements for graduate programs. He emphasized that the workshop represents a crucial step in the university's efforts to advance scientific research and community service, potentially providing broader opportunities for graduate students both locally and beyond the governorate.

Vice Chairman for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Humair Al-Awar, praised the Dean of the Faculty and the heads of the Departments of Islamic Studies and Quranic Sciences for their work in preparing the PhD program in line with the Center for Quality Assurance and Academic Development's standards. He reiterated the university's commitment to offering technical and administrative support to ensure the program's successful accreditation.

Dr. Abdullah al-Ghaeli, Dean of the College of Education and Humanities, stated that both departments are well-prepared in terms of infrastructure and academic staff. He noted that the college has met the requirements for faculty members, courses, and study plans as per postgraduate studies regulations.

Dr. Yahya Al-Alii, Dean of the Center for Quality Assurance and Academic Development, mentioned the review process of submitted documents and the feedback provided to ensure compliance with academic standards. He recognized the positive collaboration from the college administration and departments, confirming that the program aligns with approved standards.

Vice Dean of the College for Student Affairs, Dr. Amatullah Al-Musahli, discussed the educational environment and the college's readiness to welcome the first cohort of doctoral students, ensuring they have access to necessary facilities.

During the workshop, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Warqi, Head of the Departments of Islamic Studies and Quranic Sciences, presented the program's study plans, objectives, learning outcomes, and assessment mechanisms. He explained that the program is designed to address the demands of the research and academic job market and to develop specialized personnel in Islamic Studies and Quranic Sciences.
