Hamas Condemns US Support for Israeli Decision to Ban UNRWA

Gaza: Hamas condemned on Thursday the US position supporting the Israeli enemy's decision to ban the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). The movement expressed concern over this stance, viewing it as a continuation of a history of American bias towards Israeli actions that contradict international law and humanitarian principles.

According to Yemen News Agency, Hamas stated that the US intervention before the International Court of Justice aligns with the Zionist agenda aimed at undermining UNRWA's role. This move is seen as an attempt to intensify pressure on the Palestinian people amid ongoing humanitarian challenges faced by civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas further argued that the accusations made by Israel against UNRWA are false and serve to conceal efforts to dismantle the agency, which plays a crucial relief role for Palestinians, especially refugees. The movement emphasized the importance of UNRWA in addressing the needs of Palestinian refugees and criticized attempts to end its operations.

The organization called on the international community and the United Nations to oppose these policies, ensuring that UNRWA continues its operations. Hamas urged for financial and political support to be provided to UNRWA, enabling it to fulfill its responsibilities under the UN mandate.
