Sana'a: The Hamdan team in Sana'a Governorate won the school football championship, the Cup of the Great Messenger, organized by the Education Sector in cooperation with the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office, as part of activities marking the Prophet's birthday, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
According to Yemen News Agency, Hamdan claimed the title in the championship organized by the School Activities Administration under the Education Division and supervised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the participation of 18 teams from across the districts, in coordination with the educational and youth units. The final match, held today, saw Hamdan defeat Al-Tiyal with a decisive 6-0 scoreline.
At the closing ceremony, the head of the Education Sector in the governorate, Talib Dahan, and the Director of the Youth and Sports Office, Abdulmohsen Al-Sharif, emphasized the importance of the tournament in strengthening the connection of young students and youth with the Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his family.
They also praised the efforts that contributed to the success of the two-week championship. After the match, Dahan and Al-Sharif, along with Deputy Head of the Education Sector Sultan Al-Hakimi, honored the champions, the runners-up, and outstanding players with trophies and medals.
