Al mahwit: The Al Mahwit branch of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects officially received the Al-Ahjol Al-A'la Water Project in Jabal Al Mahwit District following its successful completion.
According to Yemen News Agency, the project involved the installation of two solar-powered pumping units for its initial and subsequent phases. This initiative was funded by the Central Emergency Interventions Unit and overseen by the General Authority for Rural Water Projects, at a total cost of 47 million and 849 thousand rials.
Engineer Amin Al-Mahwiti, the Director of the Authority's branch in the governorate, and Engineer Abdulghani Al-Qatma, the Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation, highlighted that this project aims to expand the use of solar energy systems in water project operations. This approach is expected to reduce operating costs, enhance performance efficiency, and ensure the sustainability of water services for citizens.
Moreover, they confirmed that the project is set to improve water services for the residents of the Al-Ahjol Al-A'la area, while also boosting water supplies to the Central Correctional Facility in the governorate.
